Sent over an application because I was super interested about the products they sell and the company itself. I got contacted very quickly and shortly after that I had a call with someone from the Amsterdam office, which led to an interview. I showed up to the interview and everything seemed fine until the end of it when the interviewers told me how the office is 70% men which I was still fine with because I acknowledge the divide in this industry. They proceeded to tell me how since it’s 70% full of men they should warn me that they might be yelling inappropriate things around the office but they’re not towards me, I quote:”It’s just boys being boys”. As a young woman in tech this did not make me feel welcomed at all and was a massive red flag about the whole company. I don’t think this is the way to handle things and left me feeling discriminated against so I can only imagine how it is for the women who actually work there.
In addition, it’s been over 3 weeks since the interview and they never got back to me about the outcome(even though I was not interested in working in this company anymore after that interview), it should be a standard producer to contact all the people that have been in an interview. All I can say: very unprofessional.
