      Colloquio per Account Executive/Sales Representative

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un'altra fonte. La procedura ha richiesto una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Xerox (Indianapolis, IN) nel mese di apr 2014

      Colloquio

Initial contact through email with cover letter and resume. Was contacted by HR representative requesting a phone interview. Phone interview consisted of pretty generic sales related questions regarding current position, background, what makes success for you? Next step was a Skype interview where more specific information was requested regarding sales behavior and what YOU do during a day to make sales. With this came some cliche interview questions like: "Where do you see yourself in 5 years, or "Why should we pick you?". The HR guy was generally pretty friendly throughout the process, and easy to communicate with. A couple days later, he contacted me again requesting an in-person interview two hours from my home. I obliged, and made the drive. According to him, I was to meet with the VP of sales and sales manager (who would both be supervisors). I was met by only the manager, who ended up being much younger than I expected. I came prepared, with a long list of questions regarding what activity would be required to be successful, how much reporting, hours, etc. To make a long story short, he shared with me the last person in the position failed, and was terminated. He also shared with me that he was "Very hands on manager". Perhaps my face betrayed me at that point...and every time he mentioned it afterward. He might as well have said "We are going to micromanage the **** out of you!" Despite this, I had spent an entire day of my time for this...and wanted to go to the next step. Well, it didn't happen, probably due to the ugly face I made when I realized I would be watched like a hawk 24/7. I think he realized I'm not someone who likes to be tightly controlled, and to keep looking. Thank you! If you don't like micromanagement, I'd probably tell you to avoid this company...the sales manager said it all: "I'm VERY hands-on as a manager. I like to be involved with everything."

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

There really wasn't one. Manager--unprepared. (HR guy: "Tell me about a time where you had to do something you were unprepared for."
