4 stage interview over 1 month. Phone, competency based, task based and a final psychometric test.
Throughout the process the hiring manager was very pleasant and I found the experience positive. Feedback from all my interviews was constantly positive in terms of cultural, skills and my work ethic.
After a long process I was not hired due to the psychometric test, which I found very disappointing considering the aim of the test is to evaluate thinking, culture fit and personality - all of which I had positive feedback from interviewing.
I ultimately understand using these types of tests to help recruit the right people, however if you hold that part of the process in such high regard it would be better for all parties to conduct this before wasting 1 month of my time and the hiring managers time.
I am not based in the UK, but it is disappointing that you had a negative experience with a staffing company and the interview.
Both you and Xledger are best served with an optimal fit. The psychometric test is just a small part of a hiring process.
It is always preferred that all parties see the ‘why’ or come to the same conclusion.
