Didn't get to the interview. I received an email about the position and exchanged a few emails that happened very quickly. They were clearly moving swiftly. We scheduled a time to speak. Then they asked what my hourly rates were. I googled the position and noticed it was advertised on several job boards. I told them that the job is advertised on the job boards as x dollars, and that was that. They never responded to me again. As I had assumed, they were looking to low-ball me. And that was precisely why I googled to see if the job was advertised and how much it was advertised for. This happens every time I give the rate the job is advertised as or typically paid and worth. Now they email me with a super similar position with the same company, and there is no point in responding because they don't want to put forward people for equitable pay or the best candidate. They want to win the contract commission and know they can do that if they put forward the cheapest candidate.
