I did not have an interview in the first place, despite being invited to one. The interviewer was late and appeared quite flustered, and it seemed like they were referring to questions prepared beforehand. It felt quite unnatural. I was asked if had unrestricted work authorization in the US, and that was the end of my interview since I am an international student here and of course, I do not have a green card. If the company is so averse to hiring international students they should mention it clearly on their job portal that international students are not welcome. Just mentioning that Visa sponsorship is not available for this role is quite misleading- because I have both CPT and STEM F-1 OPT so I do not need visa sponsorship for quite a considerable amount of time. This is extremely disappointing, I spent a considerable amount of time preparing for the interview since it was on 5 days' notice. I suffered academic loss, my time is valuable, and this was very unprofessional behavior of the recruitment team. Just a simple prompt on the job portal could have saved my time, as well as Zoom's.
