      Colloquio per Customer Engagement Officer

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Zoos Victoria (Parkville) nel mese di lug 2025

      Colloquio

Large group interview with approx. 30-40 people. This is held at the zoo itself which is interesting. Everyone is sat at 4 or 5 different tables in groups and given a name sticker. There were 5-6 recruiters in total there to observe and take notes of everyone. we had 4 different activities we needed to complete as a group. All of this happened as the recruiters circled each table taking down notes on us. When the activities were finished we were sent for lunch, they advised they would text us to let us know if we were successful in reaching a one on one interview. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful but I was given the opportunity to reach out to the recruiters and ask for feedback. I was told I was less engaged during the team-based challenges, which I found difficult to believe as I put everything into making sure I spoke up and was active and present with the other candidates. I am typically a "quietly observe, then do" person in a professional environment. By nature I am a reserved and quiet person, but I have worked in customer service for 14 years where I have refined my customer facing skills. I have always been complimented on being a very friendly and approachable person and very skilled at assisting customers. How are more quiet and reserved people supposed to be given a fair go over those who are boisterous, outgoing and loud in a group of 40 people? I may not stand out in a crowd but I have excellent skills that shine through in other ways. Overall this was a disappointing reaction after my interview as I pride myself on working well within any team environments I find myself in despite having a gentle and quiet nature. In conclusion, the interview was overall very difficult but the activities we did were fun and it was nice to spend the remainder of the day at the zoo for free afterwards.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

We were given 5 different activities in total. First activity was to work in your group to build the tallest structure using some raw spaghetti noodles and two marshmallows. Next activity was to work as a team to write down what ingredients we think would be in restaurant dishes. Third was to work in pairs with the person next to you on a mock phone call where we answer questions about different zoo experiences for guests using different print outs of made up or past experiences zoos Vic offer guests. Fourth was to work as a team to lower a large bamboo stick onto the ground using only two fingers. And lastly design a zoo logo without using words based on if aliens came to earth.
