Zoox recruiter reached out via LinkedIn. On the call, the recruiter explained that the role is new and they don’t know much about the day-to-day duties. The questions on the first technical interview were irrelevant to the domain of the role. During the interview, the interviewer demonstrated low interest in interviewing me, he didn’t hear me, and I followed up with him multiple times to attract his attention. OOP patterns sounded like something new to the interviewer. I solved the task to get described result, but the company rejected my candidacy. I followed up with the recruiter to get feedback, but the recruiter ignored my email.

The interview process is not bad, however it would be a good idea to come prepared for long feedback cycles between interview steps. It may take months after you apply to hear back for the first time.

A few rounds: some algorithms problems, some general problem solving math puzzles, and then a behavioral round, a talk with a hiring manager, then a talk with a director. Not too bad overall
