      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso bp (Londra, Inghilterra) nel mese di dic 2023

      Colloquio

One of the poorest quality interview and interviewer. Very annoying interviewer not to mention. his choice of words, body language were reflective of a very poor management skills. I expected top class interviewe from a “director of engineering”. Firstly I don’t have any experience in leading multiple engineering managers. I have led one tech lead and I definitely don’t consider myself qualified for this role. When I clarified my level of experience the director of engineering thought I qualify as according to him leading one TL is same as leading 4+ engineering managers (his words) . It clearly showed he hasn’t read my cv . Secondly he wanted someone who has front end experience and I don’t have any. Neither my cv claims it. He clearly hadn’t bothered to even leaf it. thirdly his questions were like 1. If your peer and your team member are saying same thing whom will you support? When I said it will depend on situation he interrupted me saying all same parameters and they both agree. When I questioned “I don’t need to support anyone specifically but the objective in this case as there’s already on same page” he said “you’ve to pick one” 2. When you get a call at 2am for support what is the first thing you do. He specifically asked what will I do at 2:01am? I had no idea what he’s looking for until he mentioned he expects me to verify persons identity. I accepted it and then clarified I lacked that additional exposure because in investment banking we never have shared our personal numbers and it is strictly against regulatory policies and that we were given phones to be on call. And team had only that phone call. To which he smirked and said “ that’s not right answer and he won’t accept it“ and he just refused to even listen to what I had to say. Dear interviewer, instead of smirking at someone’s answer keep an open mind. You may learn a thing or 2 from interviewees too. If I were you I would have asked “really? How does that work…”? Just because you haven’t come across this system doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. And secondly keep your questions gender neutral. Entire interview was offensive and condescending. I’m not a “he”. @BP, you’ve a someone in that position not using gender neutral language and you claim you’re inclusive. Really disappointing

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Q: If your peer and your team member are saying same thing whom will you support? Q: When you get a call at 2am for support what is the first thing you do. He specifically asked what will I do at 2:01am? Q: whom will you support ? Stakeholder or team member. (Didnt care about the situation)0
