Hi!
Thank you for sharing your experience. I'll be sure to take this into account for future reference.
Please know that we don't conduct interviews in the traditional HR recruitment way. Instead, we have one very open and direct conversation with a potential new hire in which we are 100% transparent about ourselves, our team, our business, what we are looking for, and what we can offer. We do this because by being direct and transparent everyone saves a lot of time and in the event we do start a collaboration it has a high chances of success.
Most likely during this open conversation, you were asked your age and then most likely you were told what other colleagues of similar ages we already have in our team so you can see if you are OK with the group mix.
If you found this offensive, I apologize. It's important to know that respect for women is fundamental to both myself and our agency, having been raised by a single mom and two older sisters. Our agency is half women-owned, and women make up 60% of our team and 50% of our management.
Regarding age, we welcome diversity and to prove this, our youngest colleague is a 23-year-old man, and our eldest is a 45-year-old woman.
For future applicants, please feel free to address any concerns about questions asked during our calls. We promote healthy, direct communication, which is essential for a successful working relationship, especially in a fully remote environment.
