      Colloquio

The interview process started in the usual matter with an email from an HR recruiting employee setting up an initial screening. The screening went well enough that a phone interview with the hiring manager was scheduled. The meeting with the hiring manager was not spectacular, it was the standard format with the usual questions one might expect. The hiring manager didn't seem to be much of a people person from what I could gather. I was then asked to interview with an employee who would essentially be my counterpart on the East Coast. Again, standard interview, nothing out of the ordinary. After that, I was asked to meet with another person in the organization but was told that the person was on PTO the week of Easter and that I should expect an interview the following week. On Monday of the following week, I received a rejection email from someone in HR that I had never spoken to. I felt that the rejection email could of potentially been sent in error. I emailed the hiring manager to confirm if the email was intended for me. To date, I have not heard back from him. The experience has left me puzzled. I have worked at an Executive Level at a Fortune 20 company and always treated every candidate with the highest level of courtesy and respect whether we hired the candidate or not. It's unfortunate not every organization adheres to this.
