First interview went great, but they came back and told my recruiter that they were not moving forward because I didn't have enough client facing experience (even though 3/4 years of my related work was Consulting and had to with direct interfacing with 3rd party vendors and clients, which I spoke about at length).
After pushing back with the recruiter, the CEO said it was a mistake and she wanted to meet with me directly and immediately. We spoke and she assured me that she wanted to me with me because my experience was directly relevant to the position. We spoke about current projects and pain points, technologies that they would like me to be familiar with.
I spoke about more relevant, congruent technologies if I had not already had direct involvement in projects that related to it. We spoke about the processes they wanted to implement and current clients and how my previous work and my education were directly related as one was with a Healthcare company wanting to tackle a project on Opiate epidemic and one of my degrees was in Public Health. I couldn't have been a better fit for them. The CEO mentioned she felt this was a great fit and would just need to speak with the operations manager to solidify it. I made notes about things I would familiarize myself with over the weekend in anticipation of the offer and hitting the ground running.
The CEO said they would get back to me the following day or the Monday after the weekend. Neither happened. I inquired as to why, but they never got back to me nor did they even contact my recruiter to explain what was going on. Find out the following day that they pulled the entire position because they didn’t feel like paying 120k that THEY themselves had budgeted for the position (which is already the bare minimum for that job title and even lowball since it was a senior role). They came back to the agency and told them they wanted to lower the budget to 85k. An entire 35k lower than the original proposed budget. I’m tired of the incompetence or the corporate greed. Either you want someone to do job described or you don’t. Ob top of that why are you wasting your own time?
Everyone spoke about how incredible the CEO, her intuitiveness, drive and knowledgeability. After this I see nothing but a woman that was willing to waste her own time and a CEO that undervalues her own team and doesn’t have the ethics to actual come back and speak to someone face to face that she begged to meet in the first place and made a verbal agreement with. Your word means nothing! And after actually reading the reviews of this place, I'm glad I didn't work here. To find out that Lyde is actually a complete authoritarian micromanager that looks for ways to disrupt team work flow and put down the people underneath her, I recognize that I would've lost my patience in matter of a month.
