The leadership in top management is authoritarian and very high school. Despite working in a startup in the fintech industry, they act like they are working in an old fashion bank. They do not have any idea how a tech company works, and this reflects on the fact that they see the workers in tech as a liability or packages to move around. Communication is lacking, and they are always ready to point the finger and blame who really does the job and shows result. They claim to give a 10% annual bonus. In 2022, despite going live publicly with great effort by everyone, they did not give it without proper communication nor a valid motivation. They do annual performance review, but they are simply a waste of time. If you perform well and beyond expectations all you will get is compliments and a pat on the back. This translates in paying a "loyalty tax" right after the first year: indeed new hires tend to be better payed than the older ones who knows the domain and grew internally. Abnormal separation between business and tech people. As a tech worker, I have no idea what people in the "business" do other than complaining for everything.
