Lack of Clear Strategy & Direction: The overall strategy and direction of the company felt disorganized, particularly in the sales and partnerships departments. Micromanagement from Leadership: The VP of Sales frequently inserted himself into deals, even those that weren’t high risk or near close, offering little value beyond his title. This micromanagement style didn't align with modern, consultative selling approaches. Inexperienced Sales Leadership: The general sales leadership team lacked experience and did not provide the necessary constructive criticism or coaching that would help the team grow and succeed. Disjointed Partnerships Program: Despite frequent conversations about the importance of partnerships, the company lacked clear enablement, resources, and guidance. When resources were finally provided, they were short-lived, leaving the team without support. Lack of Follow-Through on Partnerships: The partnership efforts were left incomplete after the departure of a key manager, leading to confusion about who to engage across various partner teams (MSP, AWS, Channel). "Bro Culture" in Sales Leadership: Several leaders within the sales team shared a similar background, leading to a limited and non-diversified approach to leadership. This "tech bro" mentality sometimes stifled collaboration and inclusivity within the team.
