- Four rounds of redundancies and restructuring in two years have severely damaged morale and left many employees disengaged. Yet leadership still expect the same level of output. - Leadership often invites questions but rarely provides clear or direct answers to staff concerns. - Role expectations differed significantly from what was advertised, with most work focused on firefighting system defects rather than leading and focussing on future projects. - Management sets unrealistic timelines for complex projects with no allowance or understanding for unforeseen issues, then criticises teams when those deadlines are missed. - Leadership often appeared to lack basic understanding of the technical and business context behind the work. Causing more blockers and creating more inefficiencies - Management style felt highly micromanaged, including monitoring logins/logouts and repeatedly asking staff what they were doing throughout the day.

Creating an environment where people feel supported by their teams is something we care deeply about, so it’s encouraging to hear that this was part of your experience. We also recognise that periods of organisational change can be challenging.
