First day on the job, my co-worker warned me the the owner didn't know how to talk and treat his employees. That he has been there for 5 years, and all the other computer technicians leave the company because of how they are talked to and treated. The owner is very condescending, passive-aggressive, and will say veiled insults towards his employees. He even insulted me during the interview process, but not wanting to confront him and not get a job; I took it as he was a non-american who did not fully grasp the English language well. He has no written policies, refused to have me read and sign any written company policies, and he would get angry at employees who asked him a question to clarify his order because he was very vague in the duties he would assign us. He refused to give employees a set schedule, replied with "read the hours on my door" (the business is open 8 hours a day 6 days a week). Also, he would not put in written the employee's pay rate, pay frequency, overtime rate, job title, job duties and responsibilities, company's policies, and company's procedures. He claim that he had an employee handbook that includes having the employee sign the handbook and agree with it, but he refused to let the employees read and sign the book after he mentioned it. The job description on the internet job posting and the actually duties he wanted the employee to do differed greatly and is written very vague on purpose.
