Belligerent attitude towards the sales role in general, with a culture that I can only explain as toxic to work in, with a ‘one rule for one and another for another’ approach to interacting with and managing employee’s , some can do no wrong while others can do no right irrespective of ability and competence. This experience varies depending on which business you work for and the management heading up that particular business, though in my experience Business Managers all seem to be cut from the same cloth with a ‘big stick approach’ rather than encouragement and informed leadership, surrounding themselves with a management team of like minded individuals. Fortunately 3M do have some great products though.

Good pay, benefits, and time off

The IT org is constantly going through layoffs. The work is going to managed service providers in India. The whole process is clown shoes. They are letting people go that have been here for 20+ years that have so much knowledge and expect to transfer it over to workers who are extremely siloed, who might not even be around in 6 months(the retention rate for this particular MSP is abysmal). These workers are not even dedicated to 3M, they have many other projects. I’m concerned for 3M’s IT future. Walking over dollars to pick up pennies
