Fear-filled environment predicated on having employees who don't "rock the boat" or know too much. Too many unqualified "favorites" that have the "ear" of Sr. Management. Very obsessed with results of bi-annual employee surveys, but are not secure enough to really understand the results (typically "blame it on the people" who aren't willing to conform to the Executive Management mentality of being totally in control of everything) and make necessary changes. Way too much talk about how great it is to be there, but the reality is that it's not. Only the pay is great, the culture is highly dysfunctional, toxic, self-centered and destructive. HR's hands are tied as they are expected to follow step. Very sad. Those that will stay are content with being in a mediocre environment until they can get out.
