Vantaggi

Company trips, gifts and high end offices

Svantaggi

Lack of morality, conflicts of interest, you're up against the colleague next to you. 90% of new joiners leave within 8 months, not only traders but from support, back office and other areas as well. You are forced to bluff clients about things you have no clue in order to rip them off as hard as you can.

Vantaggi

If you enjoy a vibrant social scene, this company might be a good fit. There are frequent drinking events which can be a lot of fun if you like partying. Booze is even openly displayed on the desks throughout the week. For those in sales, the financial rewards are significant. Very high bonuses are offered to the sales team.

Svantaggi

In this company, the Amsterdam-based board and Dutch global leadership team hold all the power, making all major decisions and often being completely tone-deaf to the American market and its nuances. Often resulting in awkward and ineffective situations for the New York Office. Employees in New York have no voice. The New York CEO, a family-oriented guy who wants to retire rich, is singularly focused on sales, disregarding anything else and disengaged from other critical aspects of the business. He engages when his compensation is at stake. The CFO, the polar opposite of family-oriented and known for his party lifestyle, gets all the non-sales responsibilities delegated to him. Despite the company's significant profits, salary increases for support staff fail to keep pace with inflation, highlighting a glaring inequity. The rigid office hours are strictly enforced with limited flexibility for remote work, if any. Meanwhile, the CEO and CFO are present around the clock and monitor office attendance closely, creating an unhealthy work environment. The culture is further marred by the toxic dynamic between sales and support teams, with sales often displaying blatant disrespect towards support staff, Additionally, HR is managed by someone in their twenties, which clearly shows in the lack of experienced handling of many employee issues, worsening the problems within the company. I remain here because I have yet to secure another job opportunity.
