Vantaggi

Amex has been aggressively trying to re-invent itself with EGG, the jury is still out as many payment products take years to come to fruition, but working there is genuinely very enjoyable. The work life balance is great and the leadership is top notch. Neal Sample, the new head of EGG, has a highly accredited background and is know behind the doors as a genius. The division is in good hands. Amex has incredibly strong internal recruiting. The culture at Amex is that once you're in, people tend to move around Amex after 2-3 years. It's great because it gives an opening for employees looking for intellectual stimulus to explore new groups and positions. Compensation is average to moderate - but work life balance is great.

Svantaggi

As a division exploring new products, there will always be projects that just don't work out. Fortunately, EGG has had its fair share of projects that simply didn't work out. However, I strongly believe that high performing employees will always have a role at the company. The group is quick to weed out the non-performers, which is good for the group as a whole. Unfortunately salary growth at the company can be bogged down by bureaucracy. As with many companies, it's easier to get high salaries here from external recruiting.

-Collaborative people depending on which business unit you’re in -great work life balance

Svantaggi

-The best leaders’ teams and most competitive teams require a lot of political play to get into -“take your career into your own hands” mentality rather than true investment in internal talent from the top down at times
