Vantaggi
The salary was fine for a non-profit. There was great leadership in DC. The mission is important.
Svantaggi
The Chicago office is a disaster. No one likes working there and everyone is so catty. Doors closed, people talking about each other and lots of down time to chit-chat. People like to pretend they are working but most people are just doing as little as possible to make it look like they are doing a lot. When the directors are out of the office people don't show up and take long lunch breaks. All around I would describe the office as hostile. Most people don't like their jobs and the people who don't hate their job are neutral. Multiple people were fired and a lot of people just left. This is because the leadership is terrible and expectations are not set. No one is really trained. Almost everyone is interviewing for other jobs. I left and now am at an office where people are respected, motivated and excited to be coming to work each day and I can't believe it settled for an office with this toxic culture because I didn't know any better. You can support Israel in other ways.
