Vantaggi

None. If you value your health, sanity, or professionalism, RUN. It used to be a decent company, but now it’s just exploitation in its purest form. All the good reviews here are fabricated or asked, maybe for a raise?

Svantaggi

Despite their marketing - you’re not a medical interpreter here. You think you are a healthcare interpreter but you are a call center worker of the lowest regard. They treat you worse than the lowest-paid call center worker, they care not for quality but for making 99.98% upon your hard work. It’s dehumanizing. This is modern slavery disguised as employment. They will literally make you sick—physically and mentally. If you have any self-respect, stay far away from AMN Healthcare.Where do I even start? - Modern-Day Sweatshop: You are treated like a disposable tool. Back-to-back calls with no breaks. No humanity, no dignity, just a grind that will leave you mentally and physically broken. You’ll feel like a prisoner. - Micromanagement Hell: Managers, Supervisors and Leads who nitpick irrelevant details like lighting or camera angles instead of focusing on actual interpreting skills. Constant surveillance, unnecessary write-ups, and endless stress make you feel like you’re on the verge of being fired at any moment. That it is your fault, but it is not, it is them. You are just a tool. After all without interpreters there is no interpretation but you are the lowest in the scale. They keep hiring people to management and supervision, and prefer a never ending rotation on Interpreters, maybe hire overseas. Not people but profit is their model. Dishonest and Manipulative Practices: They lie and manipulate systems to avoid merit increases, blame interpreters for systemic issues, and refuse to acknowledge the professional skills certified and seasoned interpreters bring to the table. They’ve even made it clear: quality of work doesn’t matter, only how fast you pick up calls and log breaks. Patient care? Talk it does not happen. Interpreters are suppoosed to take mental breaks, and bathroom breaks after 30 min. Prepare to have a comode by your desk, The WFM doesnt care if you get an UTI for holding, If you lose your voice, if you get tinittus. If you are exhausted after 40+ calls. Burnout Guaranteed: The workload is inhumane. You’ll be taking 40+ calls a day, unable to move or take proper breaks, leading to health problems like back pain, throat strain, PTSD, suffering from Vicarious Trauma or burnout. Expect sleepless nights, breakdowns, and months of recovery after you leave. Low Pay, No Respect: Despite being a highly skilled profession, they pay interpreters worse than call center workers in developing countries. Even nationally certified interpreters with years of experience earn less than unqualified hires. No raises, no appreciation, and no career growth. They will send you an annual plan but do not comply. You be blamed for certain things others for other things but it is all the same. Plus they change the rules as convenience. They got sued and did not do a thing, Depending on your state laws, watch. They wil take your blood if make them a profit. Toxic Corporate Culture: Their idea of employee engagement is monitoring you on camera ON YOUR BREAKS and penalizing you for the smallest infractions. If your state does not mandate pay vacation upon firing, take yours before you lose it all. Check your state to see if they need to pay your internet. They require you use your cell phone for important communication but dont pay for it. Stingy. The work culture is lifeless, superficial, and demoralizing. Management has no transparency, no empathy, and no clue how to support. Mingle with your co-workers , you will need an UNION! They will treat you nice in your first year... don't get sick - they find a replacement to keep on the wheel.
