      Overtime is always available, approachable management, badge classes are free, new equipment. The company has always been will to work with my schedule changes. AMR paid for my paramedic training.

      Difficult to promote. Raises are very small and not based on performance.

      Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

      AMR San Mateo is making huge strides in changing the Old Boy culture of EMS. The operation is collaborative, cares for its employees, and acts with accountability.

      Although it's much better than it was, AMR San Mateo still deals with staffing issues, primarily for medics, and forced mandation is still in play.
