Vantaggi

As a private EMS service, the pay and benefits are better than government run EMS services.

Svantaggi

You are nothing but a number to this company. As EMS professionals, we are underserved mental health wise as we see the worst of the worst. That is a given, and we know and expect it from the beginning of our careers. However, there will always be those calls that just get to you. Expect ZERO support from this company, ZERO empathy, and unless you keep your mouth shut and keep your pain and internal struggle to yourself, they will find a way to get rid of you because there will always be another warm body with a patch to fill your spot. The current director of operations is a "tough guy" who is quick to sniff out any sign of weakness. If you get injured on the job, you will lose his respect, completely.

Vantaggi

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Svantaggi

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Vantaggi

AMR San Mateo is making huge strides in changing the Old Boy culture of EMS. The operation is collaborative, cares for its employees, and acts with accountability.

Svantaggi

Although it's much better than it was, AMR San Mateo still deals with staffing issues, primarily for medics, and forced mandation is still in play.
