      Benefits aren't terrible, pay isn't the worst in the world and checks don't bounce.

      Upper management has zero communications skills, unresponsive to any and all contact. No effort or willingness to improve situation. Employees are treated as completely disposable, and time served is seen as a negative as it mean higher expense. Turnaround almost seems desired to keep everyone at base wage and benefit levels.

      Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

      AMR San Mateo is making huge strides in changing the Old Boy culture of EMS. The operation is collaborative, cares for its employees, and acts with accountability.

      Although it's much better than it was, AMR San Mateo still deals with staffing issues, primarily for medics, and forced mandation is still in play.
