Managers who listen to feedback and ideas. Freedom to live and work wherever you want. Core working hours for everyone to be online, but around those, you can manage your own time.

Due to its rapid growth, the company doesn't seem to have established internal culture or values yet (this can also be seen as an opportunity!). The UK team can feel a little disconnected from the rest of the company. The company language has officially changed to English, however, new materials are usually supplied in German, which delays processes (understandable while people adjust to the change).

Dear colleague, First of all, thank you for the many detailed comments and opinions. It is clear that a lot of work and energy has gone into this. I believe that we truly have a culture and values. And I personally stand behind the culture and values that we live every single day. For me, one reason to work at AMZSCALE is precisely this culture and these values, in particular: the free choice of workplace and working hours; the opportunity to combine distant countries with work; the always-open, virtual door of our executives; sharing knowledge with and learning from each other, in order to achieve success together; the passion for innovation and constant improvement, and much more. What's missing — and I can understand this — is personal, non-technical contact and dialogue. Sometimes we would love the opportunity for small talk around the coffee machine in a large office building. However, it's difficult to combine freedom to travel with a staff kitchen. Nevertheless, that shouldn't stop us from improving the culture of togetherness. This is a huge opportunity with great potential, because, as Peter Drucker put it, “culture eats strategy for breakfast”. For this, we need to leverage the energy of our dynamic team. I really appreciate that you have raised these points, and also your ideas for strengthening togetherness. The fact that the still small but very agile British team feels a little disconnected must change, and I'll give this some thought. I also believed the switch to English as the corporate language would be easier. We will need a little more patience, even if it is somewhat irritating for our British colleagues. We are currently having many documents from our knowledge base (and more) translated into English by a native speaker. It takes time, but we have made a good start. Culture and values have to be established, lived and balanced. We will work on it together, and improve step by step. Best regards and thanks again, Christoph
