Vantaggi

The campus is nice and some staff really care about the kids that live here and do good work with them

Svantaggi

This company has seriously gone downhill under this new leadership. The image they try to sell is “one system of care” “sanctuary model” “innovation” “diversity and inclusion” Reality? This place is being run into the ground by new senior “leadership” who care more about their image and ego than the disadvantaged kids or staff working here. The company is more siloed and dysfunctional than ever. There is no innovation, no safety for the kids, no real effort for diversity. They do not practice sanctuary and shut down those who do. No one is happy or motivated. No one feels valued or respected. There is no psychological safety, no trust. “Leadership” are hypocrites, have no integrity, and have very shady ethics. Everyone is walking on eggshells since we know how they retaliate when someone speaks up. Staff are burnt out, angry, depressed, and paranoid. Communication from “leadership” is terrible and its obvious to the staff these fools don’t know how to run this place- we talk about it every day when they aren’t around. Some of the most talented people we had left recently. More people continue to quit each week when they are lucky enough to get a way out. Just about everyone I talk to is planning some kind of exit- including me. I’ve never seen a more incompetent and cold “leadership” team. The chief clinical officer cries crocodile tears while she pretends to care. The chief development officer doesn’t have a clue about what we do and runs no fundraising events. The chief program officer has turned into a different person to save her skin and hide her ignorance. She either lacks the brain to make good decisions and see whats happening or lacks the spine to stand up for what’s right. The chief finance officer quit while the company is bleeding money. The chief admin officer is the worst of them. I’ve never seen a more toxic, manipulating, insecure, micromanaging, and soul-less person in my life. She inserts herself into everything with her awkward chuckle trying to be everyone’s “friend” while backstabbing behind closed doors. The ceo treats staff like pawns on a chess board. He’s too busy daydreaming about his strategic plan and chasing after money and politicians to realize he and his own team sabotaging his plan with how they treat people. They are traumatizing the staff and the kids. The ship is sinking and everyone is looking for a lifeboat.

Thank you for your feedback, which we take very seriously. We aspire to honor our social responsibility to you and your colleagues by communicating openly and honestly about the changes that are taking place. We believe that the grace, dignity, courage, and discipline asked of all of us by the Sanctuary Model ultimately result in the best possible care for the staff, children, families, and adults we are all here to support.

Svantaggi

During my time at this agency, I see a consistent disconnect between leadership decisions and the organization’s stated core values. This contradiction creates confusion and instability for staff, and it made mistakes more likely simply because the environment lacked clarity and support. Communication from upper leadership is often vague or inconsistent. While the agency is focused on addressing fiscal challenges, the approach has included undermining the very staff hired to improve fiscal integrity. This contradiction has been difficult to understand and has contributed to a sense of disorganization. The agency upholds the Sanctuary trauma‑informed model, yet there has been little acknowledgment of the collective disturbance and parallel processes that naturally arise during times of organizational stress. Optics often appear to be prioritized over genuine trauma‑informed practice, and it is discouraging to see individuals with no clinical background making decisions that directly affect the agency’s integrity and the well‑being of both staff and clients. Ethical and moral practices are meant to be modeled from the top. Instead, upper leadership has made decisions about the treatment of families and children without adequate regard for their clinical needs. Morality in a mental health setting includes supporting the staff who show up every day, manage crises, demonstrate care and concern for the children, and understand that good treatment requires flexibility and decisions rooted in the best clinical interests of the people served. These patterns have eroded morale and moved the organization further from its mission. Prospective employees may want to explore other opportunities where staff are valued and supported in the work they do.
