The Concordia, KS factory had top-notch quality. Parent plant tried at least five times during my 12-year tenure to close it, only the quality and efficiency records proved it was more beneficial to keep it open. Many customers specified in their contracts that their items were 'to be built in Concordia'.

Svantaggi

The Wellsville, NY parent-plant: added unnecessary hours to contracts to cover their poor efficiency, used Concordia's numbers to bolster theirs, purchased new equipment for their facility while not allowing necessary equipment upgrades at the Concordia facility, took projects from Concordia to ensure they could keep their fiefdom.

Collaborative environment with strong customer focus. Interesting projects. Small enough to "wear a lot of hats," but still comfortable enough to concentrate on areas of interest. Good work-life balance.

Svantaggi

SCS sells custom heat exchangers, which means every job is different. If you desire to focus on a narrow aspect of engineering, then SCS may not be for you.
