As the positives are so few, I’ll start with those. A small portion of the folks are genuinely nice and helpful (the rest could care less about you). There is a company provided Thanksgiving / Christmas / Lunar New Year lunch and a free coffee machine.

Now for the negatives. The heads of the various sales groups act like mini fiefdoms. They’ve been with the company a long time and nothing happens without going through them. Communication between the groups is limited so working with the various sales offices is difficult. The head of one of the groups in Walnut is a classic example of an egomaniac. She thinks she knows everything on selling and promoting. To sum it up, she couldn’t sell water to a person dying of thirst in the desert. The only thing she really has talent at is getting into bad contracts where the company gets stuck with inventory they can’t sell. Couldn’t find one person in the group that spoke positively of her and if you speak a certain language, expect to get calls after hours. Her weekly beatdowns (I mean meetings) are mostly word salad, pressure, and criticism for substandard pay. She tried to lowball me so don’t forget to negotiate when it comes to salary. Oh, and when a team member brings up an instance where she could have fixed an issue, she conveniently doesn’t remember and says she'll talk about it offline. Her group has the highest attrition rate which says it all. Her nose is so buried in the owner's backside, I don’t know how she can breathe. HR is virtually useless. When you hire on, they have you sign a mountain of documents to protect against a lawsuit yet doesn’t notice management violating said policies on a regular basis. HR just sits in their office/cubicle and notices nothing. You have one guy constantly swearing loudly and saying some hostile things while on the phone. Guess HR hasn’t noticed the hostile atmosphere he’s creating or if it’s offending others. Don’t expect HR to be fair when it comes to issues with management. They make it difficult to present problems had have habit of siding with management. The Walnut building is in deplorable condition and the owner does nothing about it. She has seen it but must be too busy counting her money to care about those who work for her. One men’s and one woman’s bathroom for sales / office personnel and if they’re being cleaned, then you’re out of luck. The men’s bathroom has not been remodeled in years. Countertops and fixtures are decaying in the bathroom, lunchroom, and sales floor. Carpet and tile are old, stained, and dirty. Even the coffee machine in the lunchroom has dust all over the cooling fan. While I was there, they had a mouse infestation. Mice were dead in traps on the sales floor. HR didn’t even notice until the smell got so bad that employees complained about it. They did paint the outside but you know the old saying about lipstick on a pig. On a final note, Google the lawsuits this company has been involved with and you’ll learn plenty about what you’re getting into.
