Toxic leadership and fear-based culture does not incentivize people to help outside their "box". They tout diversity and ACE (accountability, collaboration, empowerment) culture but they do not reward it. People are afraid to fail, afraid to ask questions, afraid to take ownership because they will be punished if it doesn't go exactly the way leadership wants and leadership often has unrealistic expectations of outcome or constant changing expectations. Employees are retaliated against if they question managers. They misrepresent to their customers their quality programs and commitment to customer requirements and industry standards. The past year has been an organizational nightmare because there is not a clear plan for the organization going forward so they keep having mini-RIFs.
