In addition to offering the largest amount of training (arguably) for health navigators, ASPIN provides awesome health benefits. Without mincing words, I would say that ASPIN is easily the leader in its field (evidenced by the "complicated" referrals sent to us through other organizations) because of the competent, knowledgeable fellow staff members who are understanding and able to answer your questions based on the experience they garner working with such a diverse market of consumers.

Paperwork and reporting has gotten pretty tedious in the short time I've been employed here, though that is less the fault of ASPIN and more requirements of our funding. It is also easy to choose that my biggest complaint would be the lack of a centralized resource for navigation related documents--i.e. event form templates, marketing templates, just no way to easily access all of the paperwork and documents necessary to successfully carry out a strategy when making connections with other organizations unless you are in the central office. If management could create some sort of a "go-to" file folder that contained FAQs, what ifs, and what-you-will-needs, things could be a lot more streamlined and predictable for everyone. In my opinion, creating this sort of centralized resource would also result in a lot more beneficial connections for employees in charge of and conducting outreach to other community organizations. If I had a list of other reputable organizations we have worked with, for example, I could prevent rehashing failed or useless attempts at connections, or I could build off of previous progress. That is the main complaint I would say that I have.
