Vantaggi
The only pro about AVEVA is that I don't work there anymore (by choice). When it was OSIsoft and before the company started grooming itself to be sold, while assuring everyone that we would never do that, it was a fantastic place to work. Since then, and especially since AVEVA took over, it's unrecognizable.
Svantaggi
- Toxic culture. You will hate your job because of the red tape you have to put up with. - This is NOT a remote-friendly organization. If you join as a remote employee and decide at any point during your employment to move, you are required to move to a city where the company has an office. - Top-down to a fault. If you are in middle management, you will be fighting an uphill battle for your team(s) on a daily basis, and those above you will not care about anything except getting work out the door at any cost. A higher up in Product has been known to say things like "do the engineers need to take vacations? Can't they work through holidays?" - There's a big difference between getting things done and being productive and slowly eroding your soul. This is the latter. - I am not a disgruntled former employee that was let go for not being a cultural fit. I fought for my teams, tooth and nail. My entire day was routinely filled with meetings that should have been emails where no decisions were made. Pop-up meetings would be dropped on me at 8:30am to go over something that someone was either not happy about or something someone thought was super high priority, both of which were not needed. I and my team suffered severe mental distress because of the changes in the org, and these were very talented people who just wanted to do a good job. If you are looking for a new role at a large company, stay away from AVEVA. You will, I promise you, regret it. There are so many places now that make psychological safety and culture first-class citizens of their orgs. AVEVA does not do this, and never will.
