Accel has a very nice new office and most of the people that work there are really great people.

Unfortunately, the positives get lost in the negatives of working at Accel. My biggest gripe is that the benefits are way below the average. HR responds that PTO is competitive, but in my experience, it's not even close (unless you’re comparing companies that literally offer zero benefits). You accrue about 3 hours of PTO per pay period. It's all lumped into one, so no sick time on top of that. The fall and winter months are fun when people are coming in with the flu, because they don’t have the time to take off and aren’t allowed to work from home. Which brings me to my next gripe - there is very little flexibility within certain departments as far as WFH or flex time. Certain employees and departments receive special treatment. There is no maternity leave offered, and accommodations for mothers is seriously lacking. Health insurance is expensive. We’re constantly told that leaders want to make Accel one of the top employers in Illinois, but that will NEVER happen until employee concerns are taken seriously (or even addressed for that matter). Any voiced concerns about benefits or the work environment fall on deaf ears and there is rarely any sufficient follow-up. Compensation is way below average for certain positions. There is zero transparency with customers and it makes any kind of customer-facing position very difficult.
