They had what resembled a half-decent benefits package.

Absolutely no foresight whatsoever from the ground to upper management. Poorly managed in every way aside from the minimal staff they kept post-acquisition. They create hope for workers at the lowest level but discourage any kind of independent thinking about how to solve problems.
