Great company, great pay and great benefits

Large turnover in executive staff

The people I worked with were mostly great, very knowledgeable in their subject matter areas, hardworking, and easy to work with. The pay was very good, definitely above average for the position, and the benefits package was very competitive. The work I did was challenging and rewarding.

There were fairly regular rumblings of people that were too busy politicking to actually get any work done, several people in leadership positions that were clearly promoted up a couple of levels beyond their experience or skill set, and far too much bloat and unnecessary levels of management in certain areas, particularly the data team. The company also spent money on software that it then decided to try to replicate internally instead and selected the most expensive, feature rich enterprise level solutions when there were more cost effective options available with significantly less cost. In the end, the excessive spend on hiring and assets, and other poor management within some of the business units led to the company becoming financially unstable and according to the newspaper, 47 out of about 150 people lost their jobs in November, followed by additional cutbacks more recently.
