We sincerely hope you have found a working environment where you can thrive, just like many of the colleagues who have risen to be senior consultants and leaders here in our company over the years, with many crossing 5 years and a couple more than a decade, reflecting their confidence in us. As an organisation established since 1990, our commitment is as much to our clients as to our staff. Because continual progression of our staff’s competencies is important to us, we do not spare resources in developing our people. In 2020 alone, every consultant went through at least 64 hours of competency training and the leadership team had 104 hours of combined training investment. As an organisation that is continually evolving, we do face challenges that we may not be able to address as effectively as we would like to. I would strongly caution anyone considering joining this company. The management and leadership quality are extremely poor, which likely explains why a 35-year-old business has fewer than 20 consultants. The KPIs are quite aggressive, and while high targets are not uncommon in the industry, the level of support and guidance provided to achieve them is limited. The management style leans heavily toward micromanagement, which can make it difficult to work independently and confidently. High targets aren’t the issue—I’ve worked in environments with demanding KPIs where strong leadership made success achievable. That is not the case here. Leadership tends to single individuals out unless they engage in favoritism, and professionalism is lacking. There are also concerns around professionalism and communication from leadership, with feedback at times feeling more discouraging than constructive. Additionally, collaboration across teams appears restricted, which can limit exposure and learning opportunities. Overall, the managers/leaders here are the main issues.
