Thank you for your feedback.
As an IT consultancy, we work based on our clients’ requirements. We are glad to have had the opportunity to work with newer technologies at times, we are equally happy that our clients entrust us with projects involving other technologies. When assembling a project team, we select members based on relevant skill sets and availability. While we try to accommodate staff’s preferences, they also need to understand that they cannot always choose the technologies they want to work on.
As a performance-driven organisation, we measure our staff’s performance based on their ability to meet business objectives that are pre-determined and agreed upon between each staff and his/her manager at the beginning of each appraisal cycle. Besides the general economic conditions and the company’s performance, salary adjustments and performance bonuses for each staff are also determined by the staff’s performance against his/her pre-determined business objectives. Like many organisations, staff who meet or exceed performance targets are given salary adjustments and bonuses, whereas staff who do not may receive less or no increment and bonus.
The cyclical nature of project works results in high and lull periods for all our staff involved in the project, this is inevitable for our industry. While we empathise with them when they must put in extra time and effort to meet project requirements, we are glad they also have opportunities to relax and recharge when their involvement winds down.
Internal policies are reviewed from time to time to ensure relevancy and revised when necessary. Revisions could be due to changing operating environments, regulatory or clients’ requirements. E.g., some clients mandate their service providers to include only individuals with certain certifications to be put on their projects, even if this was not a requirement in the past. As a responsible service provider, we must comply with our clients' requirements and support our staff to acquire the needed certification to keep them relevant to the client. This necessitated us to update our internal policies to reflect the change in the operating environment.
Once again, thank you for your feedback.
