Vantaggi
Perhaps the best thing working here is having access to the spacious facility. Second, most of the clientele are middle aged to mature professional, executive types. Unlike other gyms in Oakland, like 24Hours... doesn't get as "ghetto" or "meatheads" that throw weights around, residues of lifting powder or sweats in the weights area.
Svantaggi
Considering it's supposed to be an upscale gym with memberships $90-100 a month, the company pays minimum wage and offers no worthwhile benefits or incentives. Upper management makes no sense. The good, knowledgable people that knew how to run the company were let go and either promoted or gave the position to the ones that have the least of common sense. Cutting back on pay is one thing, but taking it away or cheating your employees on their wages is a horrendous practice. For example, personal trainings and spa massage rates increased for members, but the trainers' and massage therapists' pay are reduced. The employees also have to pay for their own parking. Many times, they'll be doing extra tasks that is well beyond their job duties... jobs more fitted for management responsibility, all without any extra compensation than minimum wage. In summary, the pay is well below your job responsibilities for a club supposedly of higher caliber. The chaotic, unprofessional and poorly managed facility makes it a very least desirable company to work for.
