Literally the worst company!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. - Recensione dipendente - Agent presso Acumen Fiscal Agent

A lot of the reviews aren't from people that actually work directly for the company so I want to give an honest review as someone that worked FOR Acumen. Cons- where do I even start? This company has no work life balance whatsoever. You have to find coverage when you take off work and when you do take off work, it's a problem. Doesn't matter if it's a paid vacation, sick, or family emergency, they DO NOT want you to take off work and when you do they will make a big fuss about it. The company expects people to just work, work, work and its extremely unhealthy and toxic. They want you to manage an obscene caseload and turn things around within 24 hours- and for anyone that has worked with a payroll company, this is next to impossible, especially when you have little to no assistance. Literally everyone is overworked and nothing is being done about this at all. The communication is a joke. They do not tell you anything which makes you end up looking bad when employers and employees have questions or concerns and you don't know the answer. I was always in the dark with everything and was not the only person who felt this way. Management- UGH! The managers are not even remotely good at their jobs. They'll just pile everything on you and offer no support at all. The only support that's offered is when ish hits the fan and they are trying to cover their own behinds. They are incompetent (a large majority of the company is). And since I've mentioned that, I also want to say that a lot of them feel they are everyone's boss even if you don't work directly in their department. Micromanagement is at a level I have never seen in my entire career. They will literally watch every single thing that you do and when you aren't doing enough, you get in reprimanded. From sending screenshots of your work, emailing and chatting you about things as if you're just sitting at home twiddling your thumbs, and even sending reports to your supervisor about what you've done for the day or week without your knowledge. It's so toxic. The expectations this company has for it's employees is horrible. They honestly act as if their employees are slaves ( and I hate that word but it's the best way to describe it). Unless you're a favorite in management, don't expect to be treated fairly here. There were weeks where I'd work 12 hours each day M-F and when I'd mention it, it was like it was no big deal. I developed extreme anxiety and depression and even started having health issues as a result of the stress from this job/company. Do yourself a favor and please stay away! I would not want anyone to go through the hell of working for this company. Oh- and another thing I didn't mention was the systems used at this company. They are using super old systems which result in tasks taking hours to do that can literally be done in a 1/4 of the time. Everything is redundant and takes up so much time. This is a data entry job that's not even reasonable or done effectively.
