Vantaggi
Management - Supportive and genuinely care about their employees. I was asked at least once a week from my manager what I need to help me succeed. Training - In depth, I received a full week of one-on-one training covering their process start to finish. Education - Recruiters are given the option to get certified (fully paid by ASG) and I took advantage of the opportunity and now apply what I learned on a daily basis. Values - “We succeed by prioritizing people” I believe is true from the way I was treated by management and a philosophy I still adhere to with the candidates I work with. Team - Just a lovely, funny group of people you enjoy spending 8 hours a day with. Happy Hours are not only fun and free (paid by ASG!) but just one of the many ways the culture is solidified.
Svantaggi
I’m utilizing this space to highlight some easy to fix issues that, if addressed, I believe would lead to longer tenures with the company. Commission - The tiered levels are convoluted and frankly just too lean. Especially considering how much time and energy goes into each placement. Great segue into my next topic. The Process - this is actually both a pro and a con. There’s multiple, in depth conversations/meetings with each candidate so you do really get to know them which is important when offering career advice and presenting them to clients. BUT the process is so drawn out that a lot of time is wasted when the same sequence of events needs to happen with every single person you attempt to submit. Plus, clients want to see their options quickly and will likely have a multi-step process of their own. The relationship building is great when you get that candidate a placement or get them multiple interviews with different companies which hopefully leads to a placement at some point. Prioritization of Job reqs/Clients - this is an evolving issue that I did see management working toward a clearer stance. I think a look at how companies are hiring today will illustrate where to place prioritization.
