Vantaggi
-They assign clients to you; you don't have to beg anyone to be your client, nor do you have to sell anyone on a personal training package -During season, they keep your book very full -It's great if you enjoy working with the geriatric population and if you're interested in the more corrective side of PT. You definitely need to be knowledgeable and experienced with training people who have many physical limitations. -The clients expect to be manually stretched on a table...and sometimes that's all they want to do, which can be better than coming up with a whole workout routine
Svantaggi
-Members are rude, condescending and classist -Many clients don't want to be there, either their wife or husband or child signs them up for training against their will, and they will often refuse to exercise. -Trainers are not allowed to workout in their gym, which is exceedingly inconvenient as you will often have big gaps in your schedule (again...classist) When I was there, there was a closet-sized "gym" the trainers could use that was full of old discarded equipment. -There's no money to be made in the summer. All the clients go back up north.
