Vantaggi
Nice office Friendly junior staff Access to extensive library of online training courses as part of Omnicom Rapid promotion possible due to desperation to fill senior roles and to retain staff. Medical insurance
Svantaggi
Dog-eat-dog culture at management level - bullying accepted, promoted and rewarded Shocking work-life balance even for an agency - staff regularly work 70-80 hrs/wk for no additional pay. Most medical writers have a PhD and yet earn less than minimum wage per hour Lack of diversity due to in-grown / nepotistic leadership, constant loss of talent through high turnover, and almost exclusive hiring from the Macclesfield/Bollington area. Very white, very middle class. Accepted remote working during covid but now pushing to make working in the office mandatory - leadership talked of tactics to make remote workers feel excluded and "missing out". Many people leave broken and neurotic, often accepting a lower position elsewhere or leaving without a job lined up in order to escape - in my time here, I witnessed several people leave with damaged confidence and mental health issues caused by chronic stress Staff are told that they must meet the "contribution [revenue] targets" in order for the company to recruit more staff and ease the workload - cyclical argument that generates more work than can be delivered Zero tolerance for creativity or any errors - culture of obsessively following processes and punishment for anyone who deviates. Blame culture for anything that goes 'wrong'. The creative team for the entirety of Adelphi comprises 1 egotist, branding himself as a creative visionary, and his (regularly replaced) graphic designer. IT department is deplorable. Equipment is outdated, and systems management is still via a local server - no cloud storage, and constant issues with file sharing. Staff expected to provide their own monitor/keyboard for working from home. Sustainability is used as a buzzword to improve staff morale - focus on recycling rather than reducing extensive air travel expected in this business Pension contributions are made after tax rather than before tax or as salary sacrifice, meaning you pay more tax and take home less pay A recruiter's dream - continuously revolving doors mean there is plenty of money to be made here by drafting in new staff.
