Vantaggi
Working for Adimian has, for a good part, made me the person I am today. I was lucky enough to be part of the company since its inception. Eric, the CEO of the company, vowed to put people, ethics and a healthy work/life balance before profits, and even pushed for several days of remote working per week, even before the Corona crisis. Anyone running a business knows this is a noble yet challenging vow to make. Yet, despite the somewhat rocky road he (and by some extension me) had, trying to figure out how to best make this work, I'm confident in saying he did a great job figuring it all out. Anything regarding work, the team, your mission, wage, you name it, is up for discussion. Working long hours is met with a gentile slap on the wrist, reminding employees that your personal life is also important, paired with understanding if "you really just want to finish something", because at the end of the day, you are allowed to do you. Eric goes out of his way (and I cannot put enough weight on this saying), within his sphere of influence, to make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable. Together with the company's business dev, they often evaluate what's going well, what isn't and how they can improve the lives of everyone working here. There is no discrimination towards gender, race or age. If you love what you're doing and have a passion for coding, you'll have a home here. The team is an amazing group of people, each with their own personality and quirks. I genuinely feel like I'm working with a bunch of open-minded and talented friends. Everyone is passionate about what they do and makes it their personal mission to deliver their best. Helping each other to reach new heights seems to be ingrained in the team. We do a lot of activities to achieve this dynamic: (W)(L)AN parties, team building weekends, drinks, go out for burgers on a regular basis. Because I've been here from the start, I've seen many people come and go. Some left because life forced their hand, others in an attempt to find better fortune elsewhere. Still, from my perspective, everyone left with nothing but good memories about the company and the people working there. Whenever the opportunity arises, I still meet up with a lot of them. Personal development is also front and center here, and I don't mean this in a "here's a mandatory training you need to mindlessly listen to for half an hour" way. Custom training material is being written all the time, in a wide variety of topics, all of it in an attempt to better you in your professional interests, which in turn, helps the company. If you come across interesting 3rd party training material, gaining access to it through the company is up for discussion. The company has a dedicated slack channel where you can ask any kind of technical questions, be it for your mission or for your personal projects. Speaking of personal projects, it is something I enjoy tremendously. But as I grow older, life increasingly comes with more hustle and bustle. And evenings just aren't as productive as what I can achieve during the day. Enter "The R&D week". Each year we, as an employee, get a week of "clear-headed R&D time" where we can work on personal projects, explore new technologies, find what makes something tick and share our findings with everyone else. I can genuinely say that this is a very fulfilling week, for me at least, and I look forward to it every time. Both for the week, and to see what everyone came up with. In conclusion: I feel like at Adimian, the growth of you, as a whole person, is what matters most.
