Vantaggi
There are no pros here that other chemical companies don't have. Salary and benefit are standard for the industry and nothing special.
Svantaggi
This used to be a pretty good place to work. Then we hired a chief operating officer from Exxon who came in and cut jobs and messed up the organization during the start of COVID. All of the process and production engineers in the company, and low/middle management had to apply and interview for their own jobs and each other's jobs! I couldn't sleep for months throughout this process. Engineers have been quitting left and right ever since explicitly due to that "reorganization", which means a lot of backfilling. They allowed many employees to work from home until August 2020 and then brought them back into the office for the "team environment". The team environment where we'll all in our offices with the doors shut and no in person meetings? When COVID spiked in colder weather and over the holidays we kept full staffing in the offices, and surprise, a ton of us got COVID. It was very clear that it was spreading at work because clusters of cases would pop up in the same buildings and work groups. The latest company whitewashing message is to claim that "there were no cases of onsite transmission". They base that lie on the fact that they did NO contact tracing! You can't identify transmission at work if you don't look for it. All of this made it clear that this company DOES DO NOT CARE ABOUT EMPLOYEE'S LIVES. They only care about stock price. This is dehumanizing for those of us who got COVID at work and physically and mentally suffered needlessly.
