Svantaggi
Where to start? The company is not making money, that's obvious. The screws are getting tightened and the powers that be are leaning on employees creating a very negative work environment. Engineering personnel are supposed to support the test equipment in the department where I work. The test equipment is severely outdated, worn-out and breaks down continuously. The company refuses to update or innovate and it's clear that this is because the company is not producing. There are few products being moved through manufacturing and it's clear that the company is overly leaning on the few products they DO have for their revenue. The place is mostly being unused and devoid of production and like a morgue where it should be buzzing and busy. There aren't any real design engineers, no new products, no volume providing revenue. This place is a dinosaur and it doesn't appear that the upper management knows how to recruit or perhaps has no budget to do so (or desire?). Where is the sales team? And they have 3 HR people??!! The engineering team that I work with are increasingly being put under the microscope and leaned on to keep busy despite there being almost nothing to do because not much is going on from a production standpoint. When called to repair equipment, it's all band-aids. The company won't support improvements because I believe they have no money. This would explain why there is no real innovation, budgets to improve or build new equipment or hire engineers. New hires are temps or contract employees. Any new test fixtures are minimal, built on old technology or being built by engineers that aren't qualified to do that sort of thing or are handed off to support engineers who are hamstrung to do the impossible with no resources. We are forced to play games to look busy because "people are watching". We were moved to a more visible "fish bowl" location and when the owner company comes around, everyone is made to participate in the smoke and mirrors of looking busy. Everyone has a little chuckle about it despite how truly sad and condescending it is. Also, it's shameful that people with decades of experience in electronics are subjected to cable repair work and babysitting old junk. I see this company being sold off in the near future as the trend is definitely in that direction. Long term: a building for rent
