Vantaggi
I first came to work at AMD back in 2007 when the Company was just starting to grow and learn its potential. My first interview was with the HR Manager, Colleen. She felt that I would be a good fit for the company and set up my second interview with the owner, Craig. Craig was impressive and we immediately had a mutual respect for each other. One of the interview questions that has always stuck with me was when Craig asked me if I was easily intimidated to which I replied, absolutely not. I think Craig was trying to prep me for the fact that this was a male dominated industry and that I shouldn’t take any disrespect from anyone, no matter who it was. I started out as an administrative assistant for the production department area and for Garey, the General Manager. We had a great staff and I immediately moved up into managing the production department because both Craig and Garey felt it was a better fit for me and it was. I learned so much about this industry – air quality, mold remediation, water intrusion, stucco, environmental remediation, general construction – you name it, I was learning it! I am very proud to say that I can instruct anyone on the proper way to apply stucco to a home, flash windows, apply sealant, dry out a structure and the list goes on and on. We went through many changes over the years, some were better then others but we stuck together through those changes. I myself went through some changes in my personal life and needed to make a difference in my work environment. I left AMD in 2013, moved out of state and took a job that made me miserable. Over the years, Craig, Garey, Nick and I always stayed in touch. We had become more than just co-workers, we were family. Craig and I touched base recently and he asked me one simple question – if I was happy where I was working. I think he could tell in my voice that I wasn’t and immediately asked me if I would ever consider coming back to AMD. I jumped at the opportunity to come back to a field I was so comfortable with and work among people who make the day fly by – even on the bad ones! I now live almost an hour away from the AMD office but even when I’m stuck in traffic, I’m happy knowing that where I spend my work day is enjoyable. The in-house staff, laborers, project managers – all great people to work with – our staff is strong and we work well together. AMD truly is a great company!

It's a feast or famine industry at times.
