Vantaggi
Adventure Life has hired some very talented and passionate people. While the traditional benefits (health insurance, paid time off, etc) are exiguous, they do offer non-monetary benefits (quartertly snacks, dog at work, travel opportunities). Last year the company made 30 + million in revenue and treated everyone with a breakfast burrito.
Svantaggi
The office atmosphere becomes deadening within a month or two. New sales agents are offered minimal training and face bullying and hazing from senior agents. If you are able to make it long enough to become a Senior Sales Agent you have more economic opportunity, but it comes at the cost of friendships as you need to be willing to throw your colleagues under the bus in order to make a buck. Operations seems to have a more collective, teamwork based approach but they do the dirty work and make slightly more than a Taco John’s Line Cook despite being responsible for 800+ clients at any given time. Operations are seen as "replaceable" and therefore not invested in. The CEO has an egotistical authoritarian leadership style that even the management team can’t tame. He claims to have an “open door policy” but will quite literally throw a tantrum and invite any employee who offers feedback to leave the company. Many of the positive reviews were left under his persuasion in an effort to drown out the legitimate ones.
