Vantaggi
The office and field teams are genuinely fantastic and a pleasure to work with. I met a lot of incredible women while working here.
Svantaggi
Leadership at the top is the core issue. The CEO's behavior is inconsistent and unpredictable; supportive and engaged one day, hostile or dismissive the next, which makes it difficult to build trust or know where you stand. This inconsistency trickles down and creates real stress for staff. In my experience, leadership also showed limited grasp of the industry itself, with a heavy reliance on ChatGPT and copying other companies' for ideas and direction rather than firsthand expertise. The office team would spend so much time and energy producing programs under one directive, only to have it changed in an instant with no regard to how much effort was put into the work previously. The business strategies are an extremely wasteful and inefficient use of everyone's time. Employees are monitored excessively through productivity-tracking software installed on company laptops, and during my time there, on at least one occasion, the CEO accessed an employee's email without their knowledge or consent. Personal information shared in confidence did not always stay confidential. This created a working environment where employees did not feel they had genuine privacy or trust with leadership. Additionally, AGC is a travel company, and at the time of my hire, I was told I'd be able to work remotely from anywhere in the world for up to two weeks per year. This was a policy that was even written into the company handbook. That benefit was revoked without notice, after I had already booked an international trip around it. Revoking benefits and changing policies without reason was common practice here. Scheduling was also a major source of instability as hours were cut with no warning, sometimes reinstated, then cut again, with the company citing financial shortfalls each time. The company has seen near-complete staff turnover about every 2 years, which speaks for itself about the sustainability of the current leadership approach.
