Recent hires haven been extremely disappointing. Managerial positions last less than 2 years at a minimum which resulted in frequent changes of business structures (localised) to staff all the time, reducing productivity. They usually lack a deeper understanding of the operational requirements in the company and hence micro manage every task in just a short few months of their attachment. Managers lack power in this aspect, making their roles seemingly redundant and small issues that can be resolved were escalated unnecessarily. Global head office visits have changed; they (not all!) no longer stay humble and interact with floor staff and instead, select few were always seen giving side eyes as if we mean nothing in the company or do self-visits with their personal friends that seemingly conduct interrogative questioning.
The same goes for the retail level. Work attitudes were less than expected that prompts further internalized team conflicts over petty matters. Consultants that are applying should be reviewed much more stringently and take into consideration their daily work practices as some of them can be derogatory even in the presence of customers.
Departments always seem to lack budget for hiring new staff that will clearly help improve productivity but of course, profits first. Then planet. (Sorry, what people?)
