Vantaggi
Fascinating projects to work on, generally good coworkers.
Svantaggi
A lot of politics between IPT leads, terrible middle and upper management. You undergo constant performance reviews written by projects managers, IPT leads, and discipline leads. If you get a bad review, you have no ability to defend yourself or appeal the review even if what is written is out of context or just a flat out lie. I was an entry level employee that through merit was promoted to a higher level design engineer. When there wasn't work I would do whatever I could to go find some billable work to keep my utilization up including taking on work that was outside my engineering discipline. I was very clear to the project manager that I had never done FEA work before and he said no problem he would supervise what I was working on. I sent him work to review, he apparently never looked at it before sending to the customer who found problems with it. He told me it was fine. We would redo the work and to take it as a learning experience. He then wrote me a blistering performance review talking about how I was incompetent. After that I barely got any work from the other project leads even though I never was able to defend myself. This is an asinine way to treat your employees and try to develop someone who wanted to stay with the company long term. Pay was way below average I found out after I had to go find a new job.
