Great opportunity for success in the hospitality industry. Agilysys has undergone a complete transformation over the past 5-7 years. All legacy products have been modernized and a complete hospitality ecosystem has been released. Paying the tech debt has been challenging but the handwork the teams have put in will pay off in the long run. Lots of opportunity for exposure to all things hospitality due to the size and scope of the applications Agilysys supports.

The last few years have not been easy. The company had to go through a complete culture change and reposition as an engineering first organization. Long hours, lots of fire drills and the stress of exceeding higher expectations can be taxing, but was necessary for the company to position as an industry leader. I've been with the company for well over 10 years and have been through a couple senior leadership changes over that period of time. Agilysys has substantially raised the bar when it comes to expectations placed on employees. A huge culture shift.

Senior managers and above are political “yes men” to the CEO who frequently screams at people publicly and on Teams meetings and makes cutting, derisive comments regarding the work people do — even those that put in many hours on the company’s behalf. He frequently complains that he is the only one who is smart enough and dedicated enough to identify and solve problems. His vision is limited to an intense engineering focus, with the answer to every challenge being to “hire more engineers.” This has begun to hold the company back and is reflected in the dropping stock price.
